First bottle...

So tonight my mom and I went up to visit Hayden and we were giving a surprise. We have been asking when he is going to start bottle feeding. They just kept telling us oh maybe next week we will just have to see.. Well tonight was the first time and I was able to feed it to him. He took it as if he had been doing it all along. He drank even more then what they have been feeding him in the tub all within 30 minutes.. Yeeaaa Hayden... He's such a stud. Here is a few pictures from tonight... My mom was taking them with the new camera they didn't turn out the greatest. Please don't hold it against her. lol Love ya mom.

Cross eyed.. This the only one we could get with his eyes opened. Every time we went to take it he would close them.

Christmas

The best Christmas gift ever...

Went up first thing this morning and seen Hayden. He is still doign soo go. His weight  is 3 lb 13 oz. They hope to start feeding with a bottle next week but he isn't showing that he is interested in it yet. One of the nurses took the picture above and had them for us when we got there. There was also a baby blanket. It was from a past premees mom. They had twins and the boy didn't make it home. So to remember him they make blankets for all the babies in the NICU. It was pretty neat.
Kyle started off holding him and he was wide awake the whole time with him it was so cute. I was able to get a video of Kyle talking to him. Loved it...

Well we hope everyone had a good Christmas. We love you all

Christmas Eve Eve Visit

Today I needed to get a few more things for Christmas and wanted to see Hayden so I grabbed my neice Makaiah and off we went. The mall, CRAZY I know it's 2 days before Christmas what do I expect. But we found just what we went for and was right out.
Sorry I havn't updated this latly been busy. But as of last night we weighs 3 lbs 11 oz and is 16in long. He is breathing 100% on his own. No more tubs on the face, well other then the feeding one. While I was holding him he had a hard time breathin but once he suggled with his mom he was great and almost 100 %. We dimed the lights in the room and wow did he open his eyes. But couldn't leave them down to long. It was such a great visit. I just love that little man.

Don't you just love the hat? It looks like a present on his head. lol
I had to show off his hair. I just love it.

Christmas party and visit with Hayden

Had my moms side of the family Christmas party. Our family is getting so big. My nephew was so cute with santa. I can't wait for next year, Hayden will  be there my sisters baby and my cousins all for the first time.

Hayden is doing pretty good. He is 3 lb 7 oz. When we got there the nurse put his hair in a mohawk. I didn't get a picture of it. It was sooo cute.. Daddy got to hold him for a long time today, as you can see in the pictures. I asked the nurse today about doing Kangarooing (that is holding him skin to skin) she said I could  probably at the first of Janurary. I've heard that it is great bonding and good for his health. I'm excited for that time with him.

His nurse made this cute name tag for him. It was the cutest one up there.

Her name is Shelby Ann Adams (after her mom). She weighted 6 lbs 9 oz and is 19 inches long. Mother and daughter are doing great. Here is a few pictures.

Christmas party/baby shower/visiting Hayden

Today was a big day. First thing we called to check on him and he weight 3lb 3 ounces and is doing great. So off to the Williams family Christmas party at my brother's house. We also fit a baby shower in for my sister and I. She is due at the end of this month. She is having a girl. As you can see Hayden got spoiled. I want to thank all my family for the gifts I love everything. I am so gratefull that we have all stayed so close.
Now that Hayden is in a new isolet they have moved him to the other side of the room. And as you can see the lights are on him more and so the pictures are not turning out the greatest. He only has one little spot left of his brusing. I love seeing how different he looks everytime we see him. We are going back up tomorrow so Daddy can hold him before he heads back to work for the week. I will try to snap some better pictures. As you can see in one of his pictures he is raising his hand. He had a question. We can I come home? As most of you are wondering. They said today that that it wont be for another week or so before they start on the bottle feeding. At that point he has to go 5 days straight without having any breathing problems. So cross your fingers. He is now on 1 ounce of formula every feeding.

 Daddy's hand.

Tuesdays visit

Well that day I received word that we can hold him everyday now. So I took advantage of that and ran up there after work. Liz had him all wrapped up and ready all I had to do was, sit she said. He did have a little trouble for a minute and that's when Liz said, he does so much better when he is on his stomach lets try that. So she placed up on my chest and sure enough he was back to normal. It was so nice to just sit there and hold him and not have to worry.
Wednesday they moved him out of the one isolate another one. They said he doesn't need the humidity anymore. As of that night he weighed 3 lbs 1.3 ounces.. Hope he does nothing but gains.
After we put him back he decided to be wide awake so i was able to snap some cute pictures of him.

Daddys turn.

Kyle finally was able to see him as well as hold him. He has been sick this last week and a half. It was so cute to see the two of them. But sad to say he did the same thing to Kyle as he did to me while holding him. But this time he set the alarms off. So the nurse had to come get him breathing again and all was good. They have added some more calories to his formula to hopefully make him gain some weight. He is still at 2 lbs 14 ounces. But is looking as cute as ever. Check out all his hair, I can almost put it in a mohack.

3 pounds (2weeks old today)

Went to see Hayden on is 2 week old birthday. We bough him a duck to compair him to and because his daddy wants him to start liking duck hunting. So as time goes on we will compair him to show how much he is growing. The sad thing is, the duck isn't that big.
The nurse said he has been doing pretty good other than his oxygen level goes way up or way down so we hope they can get that under control. And he is now 3 pounds yeaaaa... He sure doesn't look like it or feel like it. While I was holding him he opened his eyes and even gave me a little smile. Good thing grandma was there to snap some pictures. But then he gave mom a scare and stopped breathing. scary... I wanted to cry. They also took his pick line out, that is a good thing. He cried so hard when they were pulling the tape off, I couldn't watch. We sure wish daddy wasn't sick so he could hold him or even see him.

I can't begin to tell you how much this little 3 pound baby boy has brought into our lives. Even though we dont get to see him everyday it's just the thought of him brings a tear to my eye. I wake up with a smile each and every day. I dont know what I would do without him. My heart goes out to his birthmother for what she has giving Kyle and I. We can't thank her enough. Nor love her enough.

As you can see he still has some eye shadow going on..

Todays visit

Wow today was the BEST DAY so far. I was meeting Kyle there cause he went swan hunting. I got there first and went in to see him. Lisa (the GREATEST nurse EVER) put me right to work. I changed his diaper and gave him a bed bath. Then she said have you held him yet? I said no. She said well then it's time for him to eat we will let you hold him for a few minutes. I was so excited I started to tear up. I was so nervious and excited I was a kid in the candy store. It was a chore getting him and all his cords out of his cage to hold him but OH SOOOOO worth it. I was able to hold him for about 15 to 20 minutes (which didn't seem like long at all) But I am very greatful for what I get. Kyle didn't show up until after so we will take his turn Saturday or Sunday. He is growing up. He almost has gained an ounce. He still has a little brusing around his eyes but still looks handsome. Here is some pictures.

The preemie Purple Heart

So today (day 4) there wasn't much happening to share other than he moved to another room. This means that he is trust worthy. They just dont have to keep such an eye on him. He is still on all the same machine as before but they are feeding him very little trying to get his stomach use to formula. The nurses said he was the best baby in there..
Sense not much happened I thought I would share the following. I was givin the preemie purple heart from my cousin. It is pretty neat. Read and you will agree.

The special heart for babies born too soon
The Preemie Purple Heart One day a child was born, too early, too small but loved as much as any child could be. As the parents of this child entered this journey they found themselves feeling alone. They had the joys of being new parents but the fear of losing their child, the thrill of giving birth, the grief of a lost dream. This was supposed to be a joyous time, not a time filled with grief, anger and pain. Little did these parents know they were not alone.
The Preemie Purple Heart is born of an idea borrowed from the US army, a medal given for being wounded in battle. What bigger battle is there than the battle for life and the wounds of premature birth live on with the infant and family forever. The colour was once reserved for royalty, making it special and gender neutral. The heart is not a solid colour and the stripes in each heart are a little different, just as every child and every journey is a little different, but the basic design is the same just like the basic experience is the same. The heart is made of glass - it is strong but not so strong it could withstand a crushing blow. The premature child is strong but not invincible. It is a heart because the heart is our centre, it's every beat renews life and hope, it symbolizes love. At the bottom of the Preemie Purple Heart is a teardrop, it is symbolic of the tears shed during the journey of a premature family, good and bad, joy and sorrow.
The Preemie Purple Heart is an outward sign of unity among a special group of people. A group that knows no country, language, economic, ethnic or religious bounds. A group with one common goal: hope for the future of premature children. This group includes not only parents and children but also siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, nurses, doctors, clergy and friends. This group shares a bond beyond words, a bond only the heart knows. The Heart can be with you when you feel alone, remind you there are hundreds of others who keep you in their hearts. It can give you a chance to share your story.

Day 4

Hi ho hi ho off to the hospital we go. Hayden is doing great. He peed on the nurse tonight hehe.  He opened his eye really big, Kyle said he has blue eyes. It's hard to tell. Tonight we had my cousins come for a visit and he was able to snap a picture with his eyes opened. Also a little video clip. The nurse said he will be moving into another room. Don't know what all that means but I will find out tomorrow. Hope its a good thing.  I will keep you posted. He is a popular little guy everyone wants to see him. I don't blame them he's handsome. Oh and they weighed him he is now 2 lbs 9 ounces... Hope he goes up from here.
